Registration to ISMC 2008

Registration and accomodation booking in University Residence is closed during August. You can pre-register by sending an e-mail to Carles Padró (cpadro (at) ma4.upc.edu). For any question regarding ISMC, please send an e-mail to Carles Padró.

Early Registration by Wednesday, July 31, 2008.

The early registration fee is 150 Euros. Students can register at a reduced fee of 120 Euros. If you register after the early registration deadline (July 31), you have to add a late registration surcharge of 30 Euros to the regular or student fee.

Please, fill the registration form (PDF , MS Word ) and send it by e-mail to  raquel.caparros (at) upc.edu  or by fax to +34 4015881. Please, use the acronym ISMC 2008 as the subject in the e-mail or in the fax header. In a few days, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with the necessary information to make the payment.

Accommodation

The organization of the ISMC2008 Conference can reserve your accommodation at the University Residence, which is located at the UPC Campus, where the conference takes place. Currently only double rooms are available at this residence, at the cost of 81 euros every night.

Also, the organization can make your reservation at Campus del Mar residence, which is located at the city centre, by the beach. Getting to UPC campus from there is easy by underground (around 30 minutes). Single rooms are available there, they cost 61 euros per night during the week, and 50,50 on weekends.

The above prices include breakfast and taxes, and the rooms will be paid on leaving the Residence.

The number of single and double rooms reserved for the conference is limited, so we advise you to make your reservation (the application for accommodation is in the registration form) as soon as possible, since the Residence is very busy all through the year. No reservations will be made after July the 31st.

If you wish to reserve your accommodation yourself, we recommend the following hotels, which have a special price for UPC events (it is necessary that you say you are attending ISMC2008 on making your reservation):

• Hotel Turin:
  Located in the city centre, in the Ramblas.
  20 minutes by underground from UPC campus.
  Single room: 78,30 euros +7% taxes (breakfast included)
  Double room: 118,80 euros +7% taxes (breakfast included)

  It is located outside Barcelona, but 20 minutes walking from the UPC Campus. There is a free shuttle service to the UPC.

Financial support

A limited number of stipends are available to those PhD students unable to obtain funding to attend the school. Requests for stipends should be sent by e-mail to the address   cpadro (at) ma4.upc.edu   with the subject   ISMC2008 Stipends   before July 23, 2008. Please, include your affiliation and a short CV in the request.
